4 September 2008 - As part of its optimisation programme in Southeast Europe, Nestle has announced it will relocate its ice cream production from Bucharest to its Varna facility in Bulgaria.

Daily News Alerts

The company chose Varna for its favourable geographic location (less than 200km from Bucharest) and for its recent upgrades which required a 6 million euro investment over the last two years.

Nestle will continue to invest in the Varna plant by adding new production lines and by modernising existing production.

The Varna plant will mainly cater for the Bulgarian and Romanian markets. However, it will also export to Macedonia, Georgia, Albania and other Balkan countries.
