Nearly 45 percent of the sum would be lent via Agribank branches in four provinces of Vietnam's Central Highlands coffee belt during the October 2008 to September 2009 crop year, the unlisted bank said in the statement issued on Thursday.

It said the sum, along with 20 trillion dong in credit so far this year to fund Vietnam's agricultural production and exports, is part of Agribank's plan to raise lending to the agricultural sector to 75 percent of its total loans, from 70 percent now.
