Chinese Dairy Company Involved in Tainted Milk Scandal Posts 20% Rise 1H 2008 Profits

19 Sept – Mengnui Dairy, one of dozens of companies connected to the contaminated milk scandal engulfing China, has posted a 20% increase in its 1H 2008 profit.

The company issue its results to 30 June today.

The calculation of share earnings is based on the weighted average of 1,426.17 million shares in issue during the period vs 1,391.59 million shares the same period a year ago

Mengnui jointly owns and runs a milk powder plant in Hohot, Inner Mongolia with Swedish/Danish company Arla. The partners issued a full product recall earlier this week after three  samples of its milk powder tested positive for melamine.
