Overview of Ajinomoto Vietnam Co., Ltd. from Establishment to Expansion

Ajinomoto Vietnam Co., Ltd. was established in 1991 and began manufacturing umami seasoning  AJI-NO-MOTO in 1992. Since then, it has progressively diversified, introducing the flavor seasoning  Aji-ngon for the Vietnam market in 2000 and mayonnaise and mayonnaise-type dressings in 2005.

The company has expanded production capacity for AJI-NO-MOTO and Aji-ngon several times in response to rapid growth of the local market backed by strong economic growth. By building the new factory, the company will respond to Vietnam's rapidly expanding flavor seasoning market with substantially increased production capacity for Aji-ngon (15,000 tons annually).

The Flavor Seasoning Market in Vietnam

The flavor seasoning market in Vietnam quickly formed with the entrance of Ajinomoto in 2000. Supported by the increase in the standard of living in tandem with strong economic growth and favorable consumer response to the ease and convenience of preparing delicious dishes, the market has doubled over the last two years.

Position and Targets of Ajinomoto Vietnam in the Local Flavor Seasoning Market

Ajinomoto Vietnam renewed its recipe and package design of Aji-ngon in 2007 to reflect consumer needs, and has expanded its market share through aggressive marketing and nationwide sales channels. The company will strengthen its position in the flavor seasoning market, which is expected to see double-digit or higher growth, with the aim of achieving top market share by 2010.
