Protient, Inc. to Close Norfolk, NE Facility

October 02, 2008 - Protient today announced the closing of their Norfolk, Nebraska processing facility; the closure to be effective immediately.

The company is evaluating its strategic opportunities with respect to disposition of the facility, including but not limited to the sale to a party interested in its capabilities as a manufacturing site.  The closure will result in the loss of approximately 65 jobs at the site.  Employees were informed at a meeting held today 10/2/08.

Protient, Inc. has its headquarters in St. Paul, MN and is a manufacturer and marketer of dairy based ingredients, specializing in dairy proteins.Protient is part of the ABF ingredients group of Associated British Foods.
