Dr. Christopher Nelson, President of Kemin Industries, Inc., stated, “Kemin Food Ingredients officially became an independent operating company on January 1, 2006. Historically, the food ingredients’ divisions were part of the Kemin AgriFoods’ business units in the US, India, Europe and Asia. Although the food ingredients’ divisions experienced rapid growth under this structure, it became evident to me that this portion of our business needed to become more focused to better serve our customers and realize its full potential. Thus the formation of Kemin Food Ingredients.”

K.P. Philip, President of KFI, added, “Kemin Food Ingredients is now transitioning into a worldwide organization and investments are being made in personnel, lab space and equipment to support this new company going forward. Planning and investment for long-term growth will encompass new products and categories. KFI will introduce a ‘Functional Food Ingredients’ platform in 2006 and the first entry under this platform will be FloraGLO® brand Lutein, which we will market into the food and beverage industries.” Current product lines include FORTIUM® brand natural antioxidants and extracts, SHIELD® brand antimicrobial systems, and EN-HANCE™ brand synthetic antioxidants.

Kemin Industries, Inc., is a privately owned nutritional ingredient manufacturer headquartered in Des Moines, Iowa (USA). Founded in 1961, Kemin has become nutritional ingredient experts for animal feed, human dietary supplements and food products, and pet foods. Serving a customer base that impacts 80 percent of the global food production capability, the Kemin family of companies strives to touch the lives of half the people in the world every day through its products and services. With nearly 900 employees worldwide, the organization operates in more than 80 countries, with manufacturing facilities in Belgium, Brazil, China, India, Singapore, South Africa, Thailand and the United States.
