AmBev Brewers Claim Majority Share in Brazilian Beer Market

14 Oct, 2008 - InBev's Brazilian subsidiary Companhia de Bebidas das Americas (ABV) has secured more than two thirds share of the domestic beer market, a survey has reported.

ABV or AmBev as it is also known, saw its share of the Brazilian market soar 40 basis points from the previous month to claim a 67.7% stake in the market. The brewer’s market share has been recovering from a slump dating back to February 2008.

At the same time Femsa brewers saw its share drop by 40 basis points to 7.4%.
