Importer from the Netherlands had distributed these candies into 14 European countries far earlier than the European Commission established protective measures on the borders. Until now, the Dutch Authority for control of foodstuffs completed the list of all purchasers.

Prague company Fuda Trade s.r.o., which imported the candies in question into the Czech Republic already in February this year, belongs to them. However, the company imported only 20 packagings of these candies (White Rabbit, packaing á 227 g, best before 20 November 2009) which were already sold at the time of inspection. Thus, these candies are not present on the Czech market any longer. Should the consumers still have them at home, the Inspection Authority recommends not eating them.

Uptil now, the Food Inspection Authority has carried out almost 4000 inspections during which inspectors are focused on foodstuffs originating from Asia and containing a milk component in any form. 19 samples has been already taken. Results are available for 8 samples, however presence of melamine has not been detected in any of them. The Czech Agriculture and Food Inspection Authority will keep in publishing the results.
