3 November 2008 - Cargill's corn milling facility in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, which resumed operations on 9 September, should be back up to full capacity during November, local sources report.
In June, Cargill declared force majeure on some corn syrup contracts after the plant was shut down because of flooding in the area. However, the company, at the time, said the floods had not hit its high fructose corn syrup production.
Besides starch and corn syrup, the plant produces specialty food starches used to add texture to items like gravy or salad dressings.
