Lucerne, 4 Nov, 2008 - Emmi has decided to relocate its company headquarters to the former "Butterzentrale" production site in the Tribschen area of Lucerne.
On 27 November 2008 the Lucerne city council will make its decision concerning the necessary zone plan amendment into a residential and commercial area. The move to the new headquarters is planned for the beginning of 2012.
Given the limited space available at the current headquarters at Habsburgerstrasse in Lucerne, it has been clear for some time that a long-term solution needed to be found. At the end of June 2008, Emmi decided in favour of the city of Lucerne for the location, based on its good overall infrastructure. After examining various possible locations in Lucerne, the Board of Directors has now decided to use the location of the former "Butterzentrale" production site in Tribschen as the company's future headquarters.
On 27 November 2008 the Lucerne city council will make its decision concerning the extraordinary zone plan amendment into a residential and commercial area. The city council's construction committee already approved the requested zone plan amendment by a majority vote taken in January.
Subject to approval by the city council, the project will be developed further under Emmi's leadership and will be implemented once the planning project is complete, from mid-2010 onwards. The planned project includes residential and commercial areas, including space for around 200 members of staff at the future headquarters of Emmi. Emmi's relocation to its new headquarters in the Tribschen area of Lucerne is planned for the beginning of 2012.
