Chicago, Nov 6 - Wendy's/Arby's Group Inc, which was formed when Wendy's International Inc and Triarc Cos Inc combined weeks ago, posted quarterly losses for each of the former companies on Thursday.

Triarc Cos Inc and Wendy's International Inc combined to form Wendy's/Arby's in a $2.2 billion deal on Sept 29.

Triarc, the parent company of sandwich chain operator Arby's, posted a third-quarter loss of $12.1 million, or 13 cents per share, compared to a profit of $3.7 million, or 4 cents per share, a year earlier. Triarc also posted a loss from continuing operations of 14 cents per share.

Triarc revenue fell to $310.4 million from $324.2 million.

Wendy's, which was the No. 3 U.S. hamburger chain prior to the merger, posted a loss of $29.9 million, or 34 cents per share, versus a year-earlier profit of $29.9 million, or 34 cents per share.

Wendy's revenue slipped to $624.9 million from $629.8 million.

The merged company is the No. 3 fast-food chain by sales behind McDonald's Corp and Yum Brands Inc, but its Wendy's and Arby's chains have lacked the investment seen at McDonald's and Burger King Holdings Inc and the restaurants have underperformed those rivals.

Wendy's/Arby's shares rose to $3.70 in premarket trading after closing at $3.29 on Wednesday on the New York Stock Exchange.
