Seoul, Nov 21 - South Korean soft drinks company Lotte Chilsung Beverage Co said on Friday it was not considering buying the country's No.2 beer company Oriental Brewery, owned by Belgian brewer InBev NV.
"We are not considering acquisition of Oriental Brewery," Lotte Chilsung said in a disclosure to the Korea Exchange.
Sources previously said InBev was planning to put the South Korean beer business up for sale to shed a non-core asset and help finance its purchase of U.S. brewer Anheuser-Busch Cos Inc.
InBev closed the acquisition of Anheuser-Busch this week to become the world's largest brewer.
