Most EU Exports Subsidies Except Sugar Fall in '06/07

Geneva, Dec 3 - European Union export subsidies for most agricultural products except sugar fell in the marketing year 2006/07, according to EU figures notified to the World Trade Organisation (WTO).

Under proposals currently under negotiation in the WTO's Doha round, developed countries will phase out export subsidies for agriculture by 2013, and developing countries by 2016.
