Canadian Bakery Firm in Talks to Sell Dunedin to Mexico's Grupo Bimbo

4 December 2008 - Canadian bakery firm George Weston Limited has announced that its subsidiary Dunedin Holdings is in discussions with Mexico's Grupo Bimbo regarding the possible sale of Dunedin's US fresh bread and baked goods business.

According to George Weston, no agreement has yet been reached and there can be no assurance that any transaction will be concluded.

Established in 1882, George Weston Limited has two reportable operating segments: Weston Foods and Loblaw, which is operated by Loblaw Companies Limited.

The Weston Foods operating segment is primarily engaged in the baking industry within North America.
