Ukraine: Roshen Confectionary Corporation Posts 31% Sales Increase in 2008

Jan 19 - In 2008, sales of the products of Roshen Corporation amounted to more than $850 million that is almost 31% more as compared to 2007.

Total production volume of confectionary is 360 thousand tons that is 3% more as compared to 2007.

The Corporation has produced 155 thousand tons of confectionary products for the Ukrainian market that is 3% more than in 2007.

In 2008 ROSHEN introduced such new products as  "Monblan", "Fairy-tale nut" chocolates, "Roshen Elegance" premium chocolate , "Citrus pieces" and "Mad bee Fruity" unique jelly sweets  with carageenan base and natural fruit juice supplements, "Mini Shtuchka" waffle sweets with chocolate coating and many others.

In 2008 ROSHEN Corporation  put into operation the biggest Ukrainian logistics center with total area of 60,000  sq.m. and overall capacity of 45,000 tons, which allowed to significantly reduce delivery-for-sale time through the entire supply chain. We speak about as much as 20,000 tons of confectionary products monthly produced by all ROSHEN companies.

 ROSHEN Confectionary Corporation is the leader of the national confectionary market. Approximately 25% of all the Ukrainian confectionary products are made in the factories of Corporation in Kyiv, Vinnitsa, Mariupol and Kremenchug.

Since 2001, ROSHEN Corporation has acquired the international status, when Lipetsk confectionary factory "Likonf" (Russia) became a member of Corporation; Klaipeda confectionary factory (Lithuania) joined Corporation in 2006.

 The Corporation also includes butter & diary processing plant "Bershadmoloko", which supplies the Corporation with high quality natural food raw materials

The assortment of Corporation numbers more than 200 kinds of sweets, chocolate, waffles, marmalade and cakes. The products are exported to Russia, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Moldova, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, the USA, Canada, Germany, Israel and many other countries.
