UK: Bounce Snack Foods Protein Balls Recall Expanded on Further Salmonella Fears

March 2 - The UK's Food Standards Agency isues an an update on Friday to the Food Alert for Information dated 18 February about a recall of certain date codes of Bounce Premium Protein Balls, because of the possible presence of Salmonella Typhimurium.

Salmonella is a bacterium that causes food poisoning. Bounce Snack Foods has extended the recall to include all date codes up to and including 2 November 2009 of its Premium Protein Balls.

The products recalled are:

Bounce Premium Protein Balls
- All best before dates up to and including 2 November 2009 (referred to on packs as 'best by')
- No other Bounce Snack Foods (UK) Ltd products or flavours are known to be affected.

The affected products have been recalled from sale and point-of-sale notices have been displayed in all stores. These notices will explain to customers why the products have been recalled. Anyone who has bought any of the products can return them for a full refund.
