30 March 2009 - Further to a fire that destroyed half of its Aubagne factory in August 2008, French crisp maker Sibell is now fully operational and its 50 or so workers have all returned to work.

The company, since last summer, has invested in new production lines, which are expected to boost its capacity from the pre-fire level of 8,000 tons per annum to more than 11,000 tons, a 40% increase.

Sibell lost half of its 6.500m2 factory floor in the fire and, since, had only been operating two snack and prawn cracker lines.

It is understood that Sibell caters for about 12% of the French crisp market. Earlier this month Sibell signed a distribution agreement with French retailer Casino.
