Copenhagen, April 8 - Danish brewer Carlsberg said on Tuesday its German unit would create a beverage distribution joint venture with wholesaler Nordmann Group.
Carlsberg said in a statement it and Nordmann would own 50 percent each in Nordic GmbH, which would have annual sales of over 400 million euros ($541.3 million).
"The alliance with Nordmann is expected to increase sales and reduce costs, as Carlsberg Deutschland's brands will now also be sold through current Nordmann's outlets," the firm said.
Nordic would distribute Carlsberg Deutschland's brands such as Carlsberg, Duckstein, Holsten and Astra. ($1=.7389 Euro)
