India: Beverage Firm Kenventer Agro Limited Acquires Fruit Pulp and Bakery Ingredient Operations from Export Company

6 April 2006 - Kenventer Agro Limited has acquired the food division of Indian exporter Eicher International Limited for an undisclosed amount. Eicher's food division is involved in the export of fruit pulp and bakery ingredients.

"It is a strategic move by us to tap the huge potential of the export market. It will be a growth engine for us," Mr Mayank Jalan, managing director of Kenventer Agro Limited told reporters. "We are open for more such acquisitions in future", added Jalan.

The move will allow Kenventer Agro Limited to become an important player in the fruit pulp export market by benefiting from Eicher's established presence in markets, such as the Middle East, Europe and South East Asia.

Located in Kolkata, Kenventer Agro Limited manufactures fruit beverages and mineral water. Kenventer Agro Limited is a part of the Keventer Group, which has interests in manufacturing, food processing, dairy products, real estate, infrastructure development and stainless steel exports.
