USDA Awards Export Subsidy to Dry Milk, Cheese

Washington, June 12 - The U.S. Agriculture Department said on Friday it accepted bids from exporters under its dairy export subsidy program for nonfat dry milk to Asia and the former Soviet Union, and mozzarella cheese to Africa and the Middle East.

The average subsidy for nonfat dry milk was $132.22 per tonne, and for cheese it was $100 per tonne, the USDA said.
