Ljubljana, June 17 - Slovenia's top food retailer Mercator said on Wednesday it would raise its 2008 dividend to 4.5 euros ($6.25) per share from the 4.25 euros paid for 2007.
The dividend needs to be approved by shareholders at their meeting on July 20, the company said in a statement.
In February, Mercator reported 2008 group net profit fell 8 percent to 40.7 million euros, while sales rose 10.8 percent to 2.7 billion.
