Centam, Mexico, Colombia May Coffee Exports down

Guatemala City, June 22 - Coffee exports from Central America, Mexico, Colombia, Peru and the Dominican Republic slipped 9 percent year-on-year in May to 2,469,951 60-kg bags, Guatemalan growers group Anacafe said on Monday.

In May 2008, exports from the group of nine washed arabica producers were 2,719,842 bags, according to Anacafe, which collates export figures from the region.

Cumulative exports for the 2008/09 coffee year, which began in October, were 17,882,217 bags, down 8.6 percent from the same period in the previous cycle.
