China: Cofco Coca-Cola Opens 500-Million-Bottles-Per-Year Plant in Jiangxi

23 June 2009 - A Chinese Coca-Cola joint venture (Cofco Coca-Cola Beverages Ltd.) has opened a new bottling plant in the eastern province of Jiangxi.

It is understood that the new 147,000-square-meter plant cost CNY100 million (USD 14.3 million) and will lead to the creatation of 424 jobs.

The facility will have an annual capacity of almost 500 million bottles, and will serve 44 million people in the province.

Cofco Coca-Cola Beverage Ltd. was established in 2000 and is 65% owned by China National Cereals, Oils & Foodstuffs Import & Export Corp. and 35% owned by Coca-Cola.
