New Delhi, June 29 - Poor monsoon rains in India will not hit the country's farm output as planting of summer-sown crops is delayed by only a week, the Financial Express newspaper said, quoting Farm Minister Sharad Pawar.
The weather office last week said the annual June-September monsoon rains would deliver only 93 percent of the long-term average, coming in below normal for the first time in four years.
The country has adequate stocks of rice, wheat and sugar to meet any exigency, the paper quoting the minister saying.
