Shanghai, July 7 - China produced 12.43 million tonnes of sugar in the 2008/2009 crushing season, down 16 percent from a year earlier, a report on the Guangxi Sugar Wholesale Market website said.
The report said the 2008/2009 crushing season had ended, citing information from the China Sugar Association. Freezing weather early in the year had damaged canes in the country's largest growing region of Guangxi.
