Constellation Signs U.S. Distributor Deals

Chicago, July 23 - Wine and spirits maker Constellation Brands Inc said on Thursday it signed exclusive multiyear deals with four distributors in the United States, consolidating over half its portfolio with one distributor per market.

Constellation said the deals would improve its growth potential by exclusively aligning it with distributors that will have dedicated sales staff for its products, which include Robert Mondavi wine and Svedka vodka.

Financial terms of the deals with Southern Wine and Spirits of America Inc, Republic National Distributing Co, National Wine and Spirits and Johnson Brothers Liquor Co were not disclosed.

Constellation shares closed up 3.4 percent to $13.40 on the New York Stock Exchange.
