14 April 2006 - Further to its acquisition of Italian insolvent food group Parmalat's bakery products division, domestic bakery products maker Vicenzi Biscotti has confirmed to FLEXNEWS that it plans to double its exports to countries located in the Persian Gulf.
In December 2005, Parmalat SpA sold its baked products unit to MisterDay, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Vicenzi Biscotti, for 22.2 mln euro. Vicenzi now plans to launch several brands acquired from Parmalat in the United Arab Emirates.
Sales in the Persian Gulf account for 10% of the company’s total turnover and Dubai is the main market for exports.
Vicenzi Biscotti recorded a turnover of 60.07 mln euro in 2005. The company employs 200 people and its brands include Grisbi, Mr.Day, Matin, Dolcezze di Campo and Pronto Forno.
