10 September 2009 - Danone has just entered the South Korean market with the launch of its Activia yoghurts during the first week of September, announced Emmanuel Faber, Danone's Co-Chief Operating Officer.

Daily News Alerts

At an investor conference in Boston yesterday, Faber argued that Danone will help change the structure of the market in South Korea, which is currently quite segmented. The South Korean per capita consumption rate of 8kg per year for fresh dairy products remains quite low and offers a lot of potential, added the Co-Chief Operating Officer.

Faber also stressed that the fresh dairy product category has been and will continue to be Danone's main growth driver in new and emerging markets.

The potential of growth in other markets will continue to fuel Danone's growth in the 5-10 years to come, concluded Faber.
