Leche Pascual to Close Fruit Juice Plant in Alsace

11 September 2009 - Leche Pascual is closing a Cidou fruit juice plant in Mietesheim, Alsace.

The company has reportedly blamed a drop in sales and the loss of two major customers as the reasons for the decision.

Spanish dairy company Leche Pascual acquired French fruit juice bottling company Cidou for 6 million euro in May 2007 from dairy group SA Etablissements Toury. The move was in line with as part of Leche Pascual's internationalisation plan.

Cidou produces 85 million litres of juice annually. The Mietesheim plant employs 73 staff.
