New York, Sept 20 - Starbucks Corp Chief Executive Howard Schultz said on Sunday he is cautiously optimistic about the economy improving.
Schultz declined to give specifics regarding Starbucks' current fiscal fourth quarter, but said business for the world's largest coffee shop chain had improved sequentially in the third quarter, which ended in June.
"I think there's been a stabilizing of the economy and I think consumer confidence has improved since the early part of the year," Schultz said in an interview. "I'm cautiously optimistic about the economy improving."
