23 September 2009 - "The Coke of Natural Foods", aka Reed's Inc., is in talks with various US retailers, and not just natural stores, about enhancing its distribution of natural sodas.
Talking in Boston today, Chris Reed, founder and CEO of Reed's, said that his company was experiencing very fast growth in terms of the presence of its brands in supermarkets.
He said that Reed's not only enjoys full penetration in natural stores such as Whole Foods Market, Cost Plus World Market and Trader Joe's, but is also present in approximately 24% of mainstream supermarkets nationwide.

In addition, the company recently announced that it had expanded its presence in Kroger stores nationwide to over 1,400 stores.
"We are making significant inroads with getting our products displayed in the mainstream beverage aisles of major chains", said Reed.
"We have never bulked up like this before", added the CEO.
As the company is benefitting from extra shelf presence in stores, Reed believes that his company is maturing. |
Early in the Reed's financial third quarter (July-August), the company retained Pacific Capital Growth Advisors, a strategic advisory firm.
"We feel that Reed's has reached a critical size where larger players look for strategic relationships, and we are receiving a pretty healthy turnout of national and international players looking at us. It's too soon to tell what this will produce, but we are encouraged by the early feedback," said the CEO in a recent statement.
