The press reports added that no decision had been made but that 2 offers for the Latin American business are in the works.

Carrefour, which usually never comments on market speculation, has nonetheless issued a statement stressing that it is not at all considering selling operations in one of its fast growth markets.

The retailer reminded investors that its strategic goals are unchanged and that its geographical priorities remain France and other G4 nations, and in the medium and long term, growth markets such as Brazil and China.
