Wellington, Oct 16 - New Zealand fast food operator Restaurant Brands Ltd on Friday reported a 240 percent rise in half year profit on the back of higher sales and reduced costs.
The company, which operates the KFC, Pizza Hut, and Starbucks chains, said profit for the six months to Sept 14 was NZ$8.9 million ($6.6 million) compared with NZ$2.61 million the year before.
Revenue rose 4.6 percent to NZ$169.9 million.
The company declared a dividend of 4.5 cents a share.
Restaurant Brand shares closed on Thursday at NZ$1.33, having doubled in value so far this year against a 17 percent rise for the benchmark NZSX-50 index <.NZ50>. ($1=NZ$1.35)
