El Salvador Sees 5 pct Rise in 09/10 Coffee Harvest

San Salvador, Oct 16 - El Salvador expects its 2009/10 coffee output to increase by 5 percent from the previous cycle, the national coffee council said on Friday.

El Salvador expects to produce 1.474 million 60-kg bags of coffee in the upcoming harvest, compared with 1.402 million bags in the previous 2008/09 cycle, according to the council's preliminary data.

The Central American country exported 1.370 million 60-kg bags of coffee in the 2008/09 season.
