French Drinks Firm LSDH Acquires Cholet Soda Maker L'Abeille

19 October 2009 - Laiteries de Saint-Denis-de-l'Hôtel (LSDH), a French dairy and drinks company, has acquired l'Abeille, a soda producer based in Cholet, from Duke Street Capital for an undisclosed sum.

L'Abeille produces about 130 million bottles of private label lemonade and cola per year. The company, which has an annual turnover of 40 million euro, has 120 employees.

Further to the acquisition, dairy production will only account for 30% of LSDH's activities.

The company, which has an annual turnover of 310 million euros and a staff of 600, fruit juice maker Les Vergers d’Alsace from  Eckes-Granini France in 2008.

LSDH produces milk and fruit juices for leading retailers such as Carrefour, E. Leclerc and Systeme U.
