Woolworths: High Aussie Dlr Eases Food Inflation

Melbourne, Oct 20 - Woolworths Ltd, Australia's largest supermarket chain, said on Tuesday that food inflation was expected to hold at around 2 percent between now and the end of the year.

Chief Executive Michael Luscombe told analysts the benefits of a stronger Australian dollar would continue to help reduce food prices, with food inflation down to 2.1 percent in the first quarter from 4 percent in the fourth.
