29 October 2009 - Wisconsin Department of Commerce Secretary Richard J. Leinenkugel today joined Danisco USA, Inc. officials to break ground on a new $13 million expansion at their Madison facility to house a new frozen storage freezer.
The addition will greatly improve the company's ability to meet the demands of its growing market - designing and manufacturing food ingredient solutions. Commerce awarded Danisco $390,000 in tax credits toward the project.
"The Danisco project supports our efforts to grow the economy adding good-paying jobs in southeastern Wisconsin," said Governor Jim Doyle. "I'm proud we're moving forward on a project that creates new jobs in an exciting, growing industry."
Danisco took over operations in Madison in May of 2004. It produces enzymes, cultures and flavors for food, human health, animal nutrition and other industries. In addition to its 14 U.S. facilities, Danisco has locations in 45 countries. The company has three facilities in Madison, an R & D and administrative offices at 3329 Agriculture Drive and production facilities at 3322 and 3326 Agriculture Drive.
