Heinz Workers on Strike in Venezuela

4 November 2009 - Workers at a San Joaquín facility owned by the Venezuelan branch of H.J. Heinz, Alimentos Heinz C.A., have been on strike since the weekend. It is understood that production and deliveries have been impacted.

According to reports from Caracas, the workers' strike action was carried out after an employee's social rights were not respected by the facility's management.

It was reported that the San Joaquín facility plant produces 1.2 million units of food per day.
