Mengniu Dairy's First Southwest China Production Facility into Operation

10 October 2009 - Mengniu Dairy (Meishan) Co., Ltd. started its operation on October 9, 2009, which is the first production facility in Southwest China of Inner Mongolia Mengniu Dairy Industry (Group) Co., Ltd. (Mengniu Dairy), the market leader of China's diary industry. On the same day, Hong Ya Modern Pasture also completed its construction, which will serve the upstream of the value chain of Mengniu Dairy's Meishan company.

Mengniu Dairy invested a total of RMB 30 million in the first construction phase of the Meishan production facility which started from April 2008 and is expected to have the fresh milk processing capacity of 800 tons per day as designed. The Meishan production facility was built to the highest standards of China in terms of automatic control means.

Modern Farming (Group) Co., Ltd. invested RMB 340 million in construction of Hong Ya Modern Pasture which covers 1,026 Chinese mus and is raising over 5,000 fine breed Australian cattle. The Pasture will motivate farmers in the neighborhood to grow grass and raise cattle. Therefrom can Mengniu Dairy’s Meishan company obtain high quality fresh milk.

With the Meishan company starting operation, it is expected to generate an annual value of RMB 1.2 billion, and Mengniu Dairy now has had a total of 24 production facilities in China.
