The company, while a newcomer to the Russian market, has over 23 years of experience fortifying foods and beverages utilizing ‘custom nutrient premixes’ and has aligned itself with KUK, a well established distributor in Russia and eastern Europe, to develop fortification opportunities with food and beverage manufacturers in these marketplaces.  A premix is a blend of multiple functional ingredients from a comprehensive selection of vitamins, minerals, amino acids, nucleotides and nutraceuticals.  Fortitech premixes are used in baby formulas, cereals, bars, dairy products, nutrition and sports drinks, juices, snacks, waters, candies and more.  The benefits of custom premixes include streamlining the production process because a premix is a single source of multiple nutrients. As a result, manufacturers save on labor, cost and testing. Nutrient blends also allow for greater consistency and address issues like product taste and texture early in the development stage rather than on the production line.

Fortitech has helped manufacturers introduce or improve over 30,000 products offering health and wellness benefits to consumers worldwide.  During Ingredients Russia, the company will sample a Nutri-cosmetic Licorice that offers anti-aging benefits and a powdered sachet that attendees can take home to enhance their sleep.

“The consumer demand for fortified foods and beverages in Russia, as well as the rest of eastern Europe is exploding” said Martin Austin, managing director/general manager of Fortitech Europe ApS. “Tapping into KUK’s vast experience within these marketplaces and combining it with our expertise and capabilities in the field of nutrient premixes will enable us to grow our businesses exponentially.  We are looking forward to developing our presence in these dynamic and growing marketplaces, and delivering a superior level of customer service that is unparalleled within the industry.”

“KUK is very excited to collaborate with Fortitech and delighted to join forces with a company that not only embodies the need to deliver products that are above reproach in terms of quality assurance for the food and beverage industries, but creates solutions to the formulation challenges that can accompany product development,” said Vladimir Leontiev, general manager, KUK-Russia.  “Their innovative, cutting-edge approach to product development will be a welcome asset for the numerous manufacturers interested in developing functional food and beverage products.”

KUK has over 55 years of experience in handling specialist food- and pharma-ingredients, with established business relationships to renowned manufacturers all over the world.  Fortitech has the ability to source over 1,400 ingredients and consistently leads the way in the field of fortification.
