Seattle, May 25 2006 - Starbucks Coffee Co. (SBUX) signed a joint-venture agreement with Cafes Sereia do Brasil Participacoes S.A. to form Starbucks Brasil Comercio de Cafes Ltda.
The Seattle-based coffee retailer said the venture with the Brazilian holding company will open and operate Starbucks locations throughout Brazil, with the first scheduled to open in Sao Paulo within a year.
