The closure of the plant, which manufactures dehydrated fruit and vegetable flakes for baby food, will lead to 59 job cuts.

In an interview, company director Antoine Coutant said that the Excideuil plant was suffering from foreign low-cost competition as well as the space constraints in the plant itself. He added that the facility’s activity will be transferred to the company’s site in Dijon.

He also said that the 59 employees would be given the opportunity to work elsewhere within the company.
