UK: Supercook Product Recall

1 August 2005 - Supercook LLP has recalled 300g packets of its plain chocolate flavoured Supercook Scotbloc cake covering after it was found to contain milk ingredients that weren't listed on the label. The Agency has issued a Food Alert for Information.

Milk products are not listed as an ingredient in the cake covering and so it should not contain any. The product could be unsafe if eaten by someone who is allergic or intolerant to milk.

Supercook LLP's full product recall includes national press adverts and a trade statement issued to its customers.

The comapny has also contacted the Anaphylaxis Campaign. It will issue a mailshot to its members about the recall.

No other Supercook products are known to be affected. The company has set up a customer helpline on 01977 687403.
