Warsaw, Nov 22 - Britain's Tesco and France's Carrefour are negotiating the purchase of 200 retail stores in Poland from Dutch retailer Ahold NV , Polish daily Rzeczpospolita reported on Wednesday.
Rzeczpospolita cited unidentified sources as saying Ahold was negotiating the sale of its Albert and Hypernova chains in Poland with four bidders and that the deal was expected to be worth more than 100 million euros ($128.1 million).
Ahold said earlier this month it would sell its loss-making operations in Poland and Slovakia as part of an overhaul of its U.S. and European retail businesses aimed at cutting debt and boosting profitability.
No one at Tesco, Carrefour and Ahold operations in Poland was available for immediate comment on the report.
