9 January 2007 - According to the Indian press, Cobra Beer may invest up to USD 10 million to promote its brand and distribution network in India in the next couple of years. The company plans to acquire a brewery in India, as well as setting up a greenfield plant.
A Cobra spokesman informed journalists that the company has recently signed a licensing agreement with a Goa-based brewer in addition to one in Rajasthan.
Cobra Beer is also seeking to increase sales to 1 million cases by early 2008 and perhaps 5 million cases in the next 5 years, added the spokesman.
