Japan: Drinks Maker Suntory Expects Revenue Growth in 2006 & 2007

24 January 2007 - Beverage producer Suntory Ltd expects its food operations to reach 762 bln yen (USD 6.27 bln) in revenue for 2006, which would be a 2% increase year-on-year, reports the Japanese business media.

The company also expects to continue its growth in food operations revenue in 2007 with a predicted 3% growth (786.5 bln yen – USD 6.47 bln).

Soft drinks and health foods account for the main part of Suntory’s sales in the food division, add the media reports. Its mineral water brands and its ‘Kuro Oolong Tea’ were particularily popular in 2006.
