Toronto, Feb. 27, 2007 - Canada Bread Company, Limited has completed the acquisition of Quebec-based, Patisserie Chevalier Inc., which will now report into Multi-Marques Inc., a subsidiary of Canada Bread.
Patisserie Chevalier is the second-largest sweet goods manufacturer in Quebec and operates a modern facility in Shawinigan, Quebec employing approximately 100 people. The company manufactures snack cake products under the Chevalier brand which are marketed primarily to retail customers throughout Quebec, Atlantic Canada and Ontario.

The Chevalier acquisition adds additional capacity and complements Canada Bread's current sweet goods operations in Beauport, Quebec and Grand Falls, N.B.
