Zagreb, March 22 - French dairy group Lactalis will buy a majority stake in Croatia's leading dairy firm Dukat for some 2.08 billion kuna ($376.9 million), the Zagreb Stock Exchange said on Thursday.
It said Lactalis and Dukat's majority owner, Luka Rajic, have agreed the French group would acquire 91.49 percent of Dukat at 749.78 kuna per share, valuing the whole company at around 2.3 billion kuna.
Lactalis will publish a takeover bid for the rest of Dukat shares, in line with legal requirements, the bourse said.
Dukat, which changed its name from Lura this year, posted sales of 2.2 billion kuna in 2006, roughly unchanged from a year earlier, while its net profit shrank around 30 percent to 106 million kuna.
