US OKs ACH Food Companies Bid for Corn Oil Claim

Washington, March 27 - U.S. health regulators have approved ACH Food Companies Inc.'s request to promote corn oil as a way to possibly reduce the risk of heart disease, according to a letter released on Tuesday.

In the letter, the Food and Drug Administration said there was enough evidence to support such a qualified claim, as long as consumers were not misled.

ACH Food Companies is a division of Associated British Foods.
