Anheuser-Busch to Expand China Production

New York, April 3 - Anheuser-Busch Cos. Inc., said on Tuesday it is doubling Budweiser beer's distribution in China over the next five years.

The St.Louis-based company announced plans to build a brewery in Foshan, Guangdong province, to support the growth of its Budweiser and Harbin premium brands throughout China.

It will introduce Harbin to 33 new markets in 2007.

The Foshan brewery is scheduled for completion in late 2008 at a cost of $63 million and will have a production capacity of 2.6 million hectoliters with a potential for expansion.
